The idea of regular meals is a debatable one but as a nutritionist I agree with everything you've written. I would like to see the study you mentioned from the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition about lower risk of heart attacks and strokes, very interesting! From an endocrinological standpoint, keeping your hormones balanced optimally requires sound nutrition regularly. Even something as simple as drinking water regularly can keep growth hormone and cortisol in a healthy range, particularly when involved in something physically active.

Most of the people know that regular meals is very important, unfortunately most of the time people can not afford (timewise) having regular meals. My own experience shows that it is hardly possible to have regular meals when you are both studying and working.

I think planning in advance is a great way to decrease the likelihood of irregular meals. If you already know what and how much your going to eat in advance then your less likely to snack or "graze" the cupboards.
